20 Years On
Interior Engineering has recently celebrated 20 years as a professional consulting engineering firm. Established in 1995, the journey began with three colleagues who became great friends and decided to venture out into the industry on their own.
Having all worked together at an earlier time in their careers, Bruce, Colin and Russell would occasionally meet at the Port Office for a drink and discussion. One afternoon, after recognising a gap in the market for targeting tenancy work, they agreed on the wild plan that they should go into business together. They wanted to be the go-to-guys for fit-out work around town and decided they were up to the challenge.
Starting out with a tiny room they called an office in Milton, an old door for a desk and loads of determination, Interior Engineering was established. The three worked hard at proving to their Clients that they could provide knowledge and experience of the buildings around the Brisbane CBD and deliver fast turnaround and accurate documentation – all while trying to maintain a variation free reputation. It didn’t take long to realise they were on the right track with repeat business due to quality documentation rather than flashy marketing.
Several years on, Interior Engineering branched out and successfully delivered documentation for a vast range of projects over numerous sectors including hospitality, retail, education and government, while still continuing to focus on tenancy fit-out – big or small. Interior Engineering has now become the preferred consultant for over 10 buildings in the Brisbane metropolitan area and provides consultancy services for projects nationally.
Fast forward 20 years and Interior Engineering is now a reputable Consultancy Engineering firm. With 30+ staff and an Associate team, Interior Engineering continues to grow and expand. Bruce, Colin and Russell are still very hands on (sometimes a bit too much) and passionate about passing on all the knowledge and experience they have gained over the years. To this day, Interior Engineering continues to live out the vision that originated all those years ago by three lads having a quiet ale at the Port Office.
