Growing up in a family of builders, Colin’s passion for the construction industry, problem solving and building services engineering started at a very young age. This background eventually led him into the consulting engineering field. After several years with a larger consulting firm, Colin, Bruce and Russell saw the opportunity to improve on the service that was being offered in the industry and, in 1995, made the decision to form Interior Engineering.

Initially Interior Engineering’s primary target was focused on commercial office fitout and refurbishment, an area not well serviced by the larger consulting companies.  The reason the larger companies struggled in this area was that they were generally geared up for new construction and when they had to deal with an existing building where the structure is fixed, the final engineering solution is generally much more difficult.  This problem solving is an area not typically handled well in the industry and it is here where Colin and his partners excel.

From this initial focus, Interior Engineering has broadened its area of expertise to cover all areas of construction and building services engineering.

Colin’s experience also includes a significant involvement in new construction and existing building maintenance which also helps develop a better understanding when looking to solve the impossible.  Another one of Colin’s passions is training and developing the next generation of Engineers to ensure Interior Engineering’s standards are upheld and that the clients and their representatives are getting the best result from the services team.
